Joseph M. Siry is professor of art history at Wesleyan University. He is the author of several books, including The Chicago Auditorium Building and the forthcoming Beth Sholom Synagogue, also published by the University of Chicago Press.

Sullivan

I am interested in any and all of Louis Sullivan's architecture and buildings. The Carson Pirie Scott store in downtown Chicago is wonderful! Even though it is closed (this was in 2011) one can still look in the windows and imagine all the counters and merchandise back in the day. The entrance on the corner is worth a trip itself, it is beautiful and so typical of the Sullivan style.
I need to get back to Chicago and take more photos of this lovely entrance. it demands more than one shot, take many and don't forget the street-side of the building where the awning is.
