Stefan Lorenz Sorgner teaches philosophy at the University of Erfurt. Oliver Fürbeth is a lecturer in musicology and music theory at the Music Academy Kassel. Susan H. Gillespie is founding director of the Institute for International Liberal Education at Bard College and the translator of several previous books.

Great overview!

It gives a great overview of a very important subject in German philosophy - music. Although it is not sufficient for an in depth view of this major topic, it is perfect as a guideline for students in university who are interested in the subject. Lots of references and books for further reading, too, which is also great! One of few such books translated into English.
